MUSIC SCENE

We loved Austin Bankruptcy nearly drove us out of town.  We had come some fifteen years before, not intending to stay.  We came to do a few gigs around town, as the music scene was really happening there. We had lived in Nashville for a couple of years before that, had had steady work there, but wanted a change of musical and lifestyle direction.  We wanted a  little more room, too.  Ausin is where we found it.  We met a few famous musicians there, Willie Nelson, for one.  He was the nicest guy.  No start tripping here.  He was a genuine good guy.  He did have a few tax problems, but who doesn't.  And Willie is not the best when it comes to accounting, anyway.  We picked up with him a few times, played hard and then partied hard.  It was a good time.  One time, we came back east to do a Farm Aid Concert.  We weren't any headliners or anything like that.  You wouldn't know us, but we played just the same.  We had our own set, but we also played back up for Willie and John Mellencamp and Neil Young.  It was fun.  They were all great guys.  The crowds for Farm Aid were huge.  We weren't used to anything that size.  I almost got stage fright, for real.  When it was all said and done, though, we just wanted to get back to Austin.  Now we are in trouble, money wise, that is.
