GOING TO BARS

My friend Cal is flying out today to go visit a few friends on the west coast for a while.  He’s going to lie out on the beach, go to this bar in Los Angeles that he knows, probably go to a LA Lakers game or maybe a Clippers game if his friend comes through with the tickets, and just bask in the sunlight.  He hasn’t had an easy time lately and basically needs a vacation.  Last year, he had a job as a telemarketer where he was making good money and had the option to work from home.  However, he couldn’t stand working for them and, after a fight with management, quit.  He’s been looking for another job since, but has yet to find one.  His girlfriend, whom he also met last year, is probably moving to Vermont.  She’s going back and forth on the decision, but all signs point to her moving.  She doesn’t have a job set up out there or anything.  She just wants to get out of the city and to experience the open country.  Cal’s probably better off without her since he was always talking about how she bored him and bothered him too much during the week when he wanted to be left alone, but, still, she was his girlfriend.  He had to have cared at least a little bit about her.
