We had never been to a Broadway show; we’d never been to any show of any kind unless you count the second grade production of Jack and the Beanstalk that my son was in.  We also hadn’t been on a “date” since before our son was born, so I looked at this as an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.  I probably should have done a little bit more research on what going to a Broadway show actually cost before promising my wife that I’d get us Jersey Boys tickets.  With travel and dinner, a good pair of seats and a babysitter I could very well be in for over a thousand dollars before the evening is over.  I know that sounds like too much money, and it really is but that’s another thing that we haven’t done for a really long while – spoil ourselves with something that costs too much money.  We are always adhering to our budget, pinching pennies and making sure so much goes into our savings account every week, I think that it’s high time that we just let loose, have fun and not worry about the money for just this once.  This is one of the top rated and critically acclaimed musicals in years, the evening could turn into something that we’ll remember fondly for the rest of our lives.
